Earlier this month, Cypress Creek Church, Wimberley UMC, Unity of Wimberley, Wimberley Presbyterian Church, and Wimberley Rotary Club partnered with The Barnabas Connection donating new toys, household items, tools, coats and books expanding The Christmas Store to assist 74 local families.

Families applied to be able to shop at The Christmas Store. Each family was allowed to spend up to $35 in the store on items priced at 25% of the retail value, as well as pick out a book or book set per child in the family for free. Parents are free to shop for anyone they wish. The Wimberley Rotary Club provided the new books! Some of the remaining merchandise in The Christmas Store was shared with the residents of the Deer Creek Nursing home.

Please contact director@barnabasconnects.org to learn more about this program and assisting in 2017.

A special thank you to: Cheryl Lauterstein for donating the space for the Christmas Store, Barbara Rutherford and Gina Maples for shopping and helping in just about every way possible, Peggy Welborn and Jan Horton for pricing, and Ana Garcia, Sarah Thurman, Susan Myers, Betty Jo Slider, and Susan Brown for helping in the store.

The Barnabas Connection started the Christmas Store in 2014 as a pilot program with the intention of serving 16 families.
