“WOW!! I am amazed by the generosity! My daughter is a single parent of two boys who is struggling to make ends meet. When she filled out the paper from Barnabas, we just thought it would be a backpack. We were humbled to see that all the school supplies for the boys where there for them along with a backpack.. Also lots of help from the library, the Fig Tree Outreach Program, and I ran into the school nurse! What a community effort of love and support. I want to say thank you and God bless you.” – 2015 Client

Students must attend school in Wimberley.

When: Saturday, August 2018

What: Providing Kindergarten – 12th grade students in need with the supplies needed for making the most of the education provided to them in Wimberley schools.  Each pre-registered student receives school supplies appropriate to their grade level, a new backpack, and a Payless Shoes gift card. Additional services are provided by local organizations.

How it works: The Back to School Fiesta provides backpacks, school supplies, and Payless Shoes gift cards to approximately 500 students living in the boundaries of Wimberley ISD. We have a number of wonderful hair dressers who volunteer their services cutting hair for free.  The Lion’s club provides vision screenings. Rotary Club of Wimberley provides free books on reading level.  Unity Church of Wimberley provides free, nutritious snacks. Fig Tree shares info on their food assistance program for the weekends for children in need.  And multiple partners provide volunteers to help make it all happen!

Please join us in supporting this important event for our local students in need!  Let’s send them to school excited about the learning to come!
