The Barnabas Connection has a few upcoming projects for you to consider being involved in: the Back to School Fiesta, a mentoring program through WISD, and the Christmas Store, which was held for the first time in 2014.
For the last five years we have consistently helped 500 local students with free school supplies, backpacks and Payless Shoes gift cards. As you may know, the Back to School Fiesta also features free haircuts, dental supplies, vision screenings and other needed services.
We are seeking support in providing school supplies, backpacks, and Payless Shoes gift cards for our local students in need through the 2015 Back to School Fiesta, scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 9:00am-12:00pm. (Save the Date!)
This is a collaborative effort as we work closely with other community leaders and WISD staff. We are seeking support for the Back to School Fiesta at the following levels:
• Apple of my Eye – $4000 and above
• Teacher’s Pet – $2000 – $3999
• A+ – $1000 – $1999
• Star Student $500 – $999
• Honor Roll – $100 – $499
All donors at the above levels will be recognized in publicity materials, on the Barnabas Connection website, at the Back to School Fiesta on August 15, 2015, and during the two volunteer days preceding the Fiesta. All funds for the Fiesta are dedicated. The anticipated budget can be shared upon request. We also welcome your volunteer support Thursday, August 13 – Saturday, August 15.
Please contact Vicki McCuistion at 512-847-3109 or email@example.com to confirm your level of participation in the 2015 Back to School Fiesta by July 1 to be included in initial publicity materials or if you have any questions. Donations are tax-deductible and should be made out to the Barnabas Connection – designated for the Back to School Fiesta and mailed to PO Box 737, Wimberley, TX 78676. Please make plans to send donations by July 1. Thank you!
NEW! – The Barnabas Connection will be partnering with Wimberley ISD in an ongoing mentoring program to be offered at Scudder Primary and Jacob’s Well Elementary. We hope Fiesta volunteers will be interested in making their support and encouragement an ongoing relationship with our local schools.
NEW! – The Barnabas Connection partnered with Cypress Creek Church, Wimberley United Methodist Church, and the Rotary Club of Wimberley to provide Christmas assistance that builds dignity in December, 2014 assisting 22 local families. Families were invited to spend up to $35 on new toys, clothing, and household items priced at 75% or more below retail. If you would like to be a supportive partner to help expand this effort for 2015 then please notify us by September 1 of your intentions.
Thank you for helping our local neighbors in need!
