Home > News > Back to school Fiesta serves 484 students at the 13th Annual event.

Did you know the Back to School Fiesta started in 2006 with just 100 students! But because of DONORS LIKE YOU, this year, The Barnabas Connection helped 484 Wimberley students in need with backpacks and school supplies. The Fiesta gave students the option to choose backpacks that fit in with their own style and also gave them their supplies for the entire school year!
The Back to School Fiesta was also made possible by the generosity of our community partners.  The Rotary Club of Wimberley presented the children with new books. Wimberley Lions Club offered vision screening tests, and over 10 of our local Wimberley stylists cut and styled the children’s hair.
We know that students learn best when they feel their best, and your generous donation helps to make that possible! THANK YOU for helping students in our community start their year off looking and feeling great, having what they need for a successful school year. The Barnabas Connection is immensely grateful to all of our volunteers (61 this year), and their hours of hard work, organization, shopping and distributing supplies, and packing bags. It is this partnership of our donors and volunteers that make the annual Back to School Fiesta possible. See the full list of donors and volunteers below:
